Bainbridge Middle School celebrates homecoming with a 50-8 win

The Bainbridge Middle School eighth grade Bearcats posted a 50-8 victory over the Thomas County Central Middle School eighth grade Yellow Jackets Thursday bringing the schools annual homecoming festivities to a happy conclusion.
At halftime 2014-2015 homecoming queen Makayla Hamilton crowned Caroline Middleton, daughter Kathy Bell and Brock and Dana Middleton. 2015-2016 homecoming queen and Kennedy Jackson, daughter of Andre and Shasta Jackson, was named maid of honor. Both young ladies, were escorted by their fathers. Flowers were presented to the queen and maid of honor by Bainbridge Middle School assistant principal Dr. D’Nina Lanier.
In the homecoming game quarterback Sam Boutwell gave the Bearcats a quick 8-0 lead when he ran 36 yards for a touchdown and ran in for the two point conversion with 6:58 left in the first quarter.
With 6:28 showing on the first quarter clock, Boutwekk completed a 20 yard touchdown pass to wide receiver Calvin Bowens then ran in for a two point conversion to increase the Bearcats advantage to 16-0.
The advantage increased to 24-0 when Artez Moore ran 46 yards for a touchdown and Boutwell ran in for the two point conversion.
With 2:20 remaining in the second quarter Boutwell ran two yards off the right side for a touchdown and ran in for the two point conversion to make it 32-0.
Linebacker Sam Boutwell intercepted a pass and returned it 20 yards for a touchdown to make it 38-0. The advantage increased to 44-0 when wide receiver Dewayne Kyles caught a 10 yard touchdown pass from Boutwell.
The Yellow Jackets cut the lead to 44-8 when they scored on a 10 yard run with 2:50 left in the game. Wide receiver Tevin McCray caught a late touchown pass to seal the victory.
The eighth grade Bearcats, who are 4-0, will travel Thursday, October 1 to Thomasville for a 5 p.m. game with the Macintyre Park Middle School eighth grade Bulldogs.
