BHS cross- country heading for Region Meet

Coach Yvette Greene’s Bainbridge High School Bearcats and Lady Cats cross-country teams turned in strong efforts Saturday at the regular season ending 23rd annual Thomas County Central High School Bearcats and Lady Cats Invitational Meet at Thomas County Central Middle School.
The Bearcats finished second overall and the Lady Cats finished fifth overall in a 13-team girls field.
The top five Bearcats were Poncherella Leonard, Caleb Harris, Bennett Enfinger, Brenden Greene and Perry Waddell. Leonard won first place overall with a time of 15:46 on a three mile course. Caleb Harris came in 10th with a time of 16:53.
The top five Lady Cats were Uriyah Davis, Camry Fillingame, Aida Diaz, Aileen Mejia and Lani Jackson.
Personal best races for the season were achieved by Wright Cook, Diaz, Grayson Graham, Brenden Greene, Nathaniel Lambert, Perry Waddell and Hannah Klock.
The next competition for the Bearcats and Lady Cats will come at the Region 1-AAAA Meet Thursday, Oct. 29, at Thomas County Central Middle School. The top seven runners will run at the Region AAAA Meet with an eighth place alternate.
