Jim C. Scott, 85, of Bainbridge, Ga., passed away Tuesday, October 20, 2015 at his residence.
The graveside funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, October 23, 2015 at Brinson Cemetery with Rev. James Williamson officiating.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, October 22, 2015 at Ivey Funeral Home. Online visitors may sign the guest register at

Mr. Scott was born May 17, 1930 in Brinson, GA, the son of Henry Washington Scott and Ollie Phillips Scott. He was a retired truck driver with Schwerman Trucking and was a member West Street Baptist Church. Mr. Scott was an avid outdoorsman and loved fishing and camping. He had a passion for building just about anything and loved antique John Deere tractors. Mr. Scott enjoyed his naptime and most of all loved his family.
Survivors include his wife, Lorine W. Scott of Bainbridge; his daughter, Peggy Scott Harrison and her husband, Leroy, of Whigham; his sister, Mabel Scott of Brinson; his grandchildren, Scott Harrison and his wife, Summer, of Whigham and Chad Harrison and his wife, Tracey, of Whigham; and his great-grandchildren, Zak Harrison and Drew Harrison. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Myrtice Scott Brown.
