Milton Durell Jones, Jr.
Mr. Durell Jones, Jr., 66, of Brinson died Friday, November 6, 2015, at his residence. Funeral services were held Monday, November 9, 2015, at 11 a.m. at Sheffield Funeral Chapel with Rev. Johnny Roberts and Rev. Jimmy Dean officiating. A private family interment will follow at Colquitt City Cemetery with Mark Merritt, Edwin Wilkin, Joe Cook, Ronnie Martin, Bryant Garland, Ronnie Shiver, Mike Thomas, and Herman Brogdon serving as active pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be the members of Miller County High School Class of 1967. Visitation was Sunday, November 8, 2015, from 6-8 p.m. at Colquitt Funeral Home.
Mr. Jones was a retired rancher and also was affiliated with Seminole Stockyard in Donalsonville, GA. He was a member of Spring Creek Baptist Church at Lake Seminole. Mr. Jones attended Georgia Southwestern College and graduated from Gordon Military College. He was a member of the Army National Guard.
He is survived by his wife, Sylvia B. Jones of Brinson; two sons, Trey (Isalia) Jones of Fayetteville, and Thad (Kristen) Brogdon of Moultrie; three daughters, Leigh (Ryan) Jones Ribolzi of Tallahassee, Fla., Teresa B. (Lane) Greene of Boiling Springs, SC, and Dana B. (Jesse) Griffin of Brinson; ten grandchildren; his mother, Norma Jones Worsley of Colquitt; and one sister, Ella J. Jackson of Albany. Mr. Jones was preceded in death by his father, Milton Durell Jones, Sr.
