Arlene Gilbert, 91, of Bainbridge, passed away Thursday, November 5, 2015 in Tallahassee, Fla..
The funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, November 11, 2015
at Ivey Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Johnny Roberts officiating. Interment will be at Oak City Cemetery.

Mrs. Gilbert was born May 1, 1924 in Cyrene, Ga., the daughter of Clifford Lenwood Youngblood and Gladys Lorena Long Youngblood. She was a member of Springfield Baptist Church in Jakin, Ga. and served as a Sunday School teacher for many years. Many people will remember her for her many years at the Junior Shop on Broad Street in downtown Bainbridge. Arlene loved caring for her family, as well as she enjoyed helping others through her many gifts and talents. She enjoyed flower gardening, antiques and collecting various items.
Survivors include her children, Delores Gilbert Butler and her husband, Kenneth, of Wasilla, Alaska and Diane Gilbert Layfield of Tallahassee; her sister, Betty Williams of Bainbridge; her grandchildren, Guy Layfield, Hope Kelly, Anjre Butler and Kenny Butler; and her great-grandchildren, Savannah Kelly, MacKenzie Kelly, Hannah Beasley, Will Beasley, Kendel Beasley, Sierra Butler, and Jessie Butler. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Willie Earl Gilbert; and her brothers, Robert Youngblood and William Youngblood.
