Coach Lisa Taylor’s Bainbridge Middle School seventh grade Lady Cats basketball team divided a pair of games this week.
On Tuesday at the Decatur County Memorial Coliseum, the Lady Cats captured a thrilling 26-23 overtime victory over the Thomas County Central Middle School seventh grade Lady Yellow Jackets and on Wednesday they dropped a 39-21 decision to Cairo’s Washington Middle School seventh grade Lady Tigers.
Coach Taylor liked the balanced scoring and strong defense her team gave her in both games.
“Everybody contributed offensively and defensively,” the Lady Cats coach said. “In our big overtime win over Central, Carmen Fillingame led us with 14 points. Ty Taniah Register scored 6, Tyliah McGriff scored 4, and Myteria Chandler scored 2.”
In their loss to Washington of Cairo, the Lady Cats were led by Tyliah McGriff with 8 points. Taniah Register scored 6.
Rounding out the Lady Cats scoring column against the Lady Tigers were Carmen Fillingame, Timeria Casteel, and Andrea Porter all with 2 and Emeria Spear with 1.
