Eighth grade Bearcats take down Seminole Co. Indians

Coach Heith Maxwell’s Bainbridge Middle School eighth grade Bearcats basketball team defeated the Seminole County Middle School eighth grade Indians 49-28 Monday at the Decatur County Memorial Coliseum.
Leading the way for the Bearcats was point guard Dewayne Kyles with 10 points. Forward Tevin McCray contributed 6 points and guard Kzenneth Clark put in 5.
Guard Jeremiah McClain, point guard Tim Tarver, guard Jalyn Peterson, center Anthony Florence, Cincere Johnson, guard Jeremiah Rogers and forward Amari Walker all scored 4.
Rounding out the Bearcats scoring column were power forward Jordan Brown, guard Randy Bradwell, guard Jalyn Peterson and forward Amari Walker all with 2 and forward Calvin Bowens with one.
After the game coach Maxwell said he thought his team played hard and well against the Indians.
“We made a few mistakes but overall we handled the ball well and consistently got it to teammates for open looks at the basket,” Maxwell said.
The eighth grade Bearcats return to action today when they host the Thomas County Central Middle School eighth grade Yellow Jackets at the Decatur County Memorial Coliseum.
After the holidays they will play Thomasville’s Macintyre Park Middle School
Eighth grade Bulldogs January 4 in Thomasville, have a return game with Seminole County January 7 in Donalsonville, play Macintyre Park January 11 at home and play Cairo’s Washington Middle School eighth grade Tigers January 13 at home.
