The Bainbridge High School Bearcats basketball team won two of three games in the December 28, 29 and 30 Southern Beach Blowout Tournament in Fort Walton Beach Florida.

The Bearcats opened the tournament with a 64-62 victory over Crestview Florida high School Bulldogs. Leading the way was Tyree Crump with 24 points and Trevon Shaw with 15 points.

In their second tournament game the Bearcats defeated the Niceville Florida High School Eagles 68-51. Crump again led the way with 25 points and Shaw put in 12.

In their third and final holiday tournament game the Bearcats dropped a tough tight 75-71 decision to the Chipley Florida High School Tigers. Crump again led the way with 34 points.

Bearcats head coach Rickey McCullough said he thought his team played well in all three holiday tournament games.

“We made a lot of progress in our three holiday tournament games,” coach McCullough said. “We played solid defense, blocked out well underneath and pulled down many key rebounds. Overall we held our own against three very good teams. Our efforts should really help us as we embark on the stretch run of our extremely important Region 1AAAA schedule.
