The Bainbridge High School Bearcats defeated the Seminole County High School Indians 82-69 here Tuesday night behind a strong performance by Tyree Crump.
Leading the way for their respective teams were Tyree Crump of the Bearcats and Jordan Davis of the Indians, who have signed with the University of Georgia and will be teammates with the Bulldogs next season.
Crump took game scoring honors with 34 and Davis put in 22. At 3-point jumper by Crump with 3:02 left in the first quarter put the Bearcats ahead 27-18. They were up 35-23 at halftime.
A dunk by Davis with 1:25 left in the second quarter got the Indians to within eight at 31-23. They trailed 35-23 at halftime and 65-43 after three quarters.
“I thought we really played well tonight,” Bearcats head coach Rickey McCullough said after the game. “Seminole County has a very strong team, and we knew we would have to play our best to win and we did. Tyree and Jordan will really help Georgia next season.”
The Bearcats had two important Region 1-AAAA road games this weekend. Last night they took on the Albany High School Indians in Albany. Tonight they will play the Cook County High School Hornets in Adel.
