BHS football team places third at Coffee County weightlifting meet

Members of the Bainbridge High School football participated in a weightlifting meet at Coffee High School on Friday. Each athlete participated in the bench press and power clean their final score was the combined weight lifted in the two events. Each lifter was given three attempts to get a max total on each lift. Bainbridge produced points in nine of the 10 weight divisions, with 14 different athletes contributing.
The team finished 3rd place overall with 77 points, that is a 65 point increase from last year. West Laurens finished first with 89 points, Coffee County finished second with 78 points. Camden County fourth with 33 points.
Peyton Register finished sixth in the 140-pound class. Brandon Register finished first in the 150-pound class and he set a new meet power clean record in his weight class with a lift of 275 pounds.
In the 160-pound class Curtis Keaton finished first, Vonderious Campbell finished third and Andre Jackson finished sixth.
Dalvin Spivie finished in first in the 170-pound class and as the runner-up in the overall pound-for-pound strong man competition. He tied a meet record for his weight class with a power clean of 300 pounds and he just missed a 325 pound power clean attempt to set the record. He also bench pressed 285 pounds for a total score of 585 pounds.
Zyon McGee finished fourth in the 180-pound class. In the 190-pound class Clifford Kinder finished second, Kerenski Williams finished fifth and Devin Morris finished sixth.
Dameon Peirce finished third in 205-pound class and with the highest total score on the team with 645 pounds lifted and no failed attempts.
Jordan Flemming also had a total score of 645 pounds as he finished second in the 245-pound class. Christian Glover had the third highest score on the team with a total weight of 590 pounds, good for third in the 225 pound class.
