Four former Bainbridge High School athletes have been making names for themselves on the college level.

Former Bainbridge High School Bearcat All-Region and All-State basketball forward Devon Baulkman recently completed his two year career with the University of Tennessee. Former Bainbridge High School Bearcat number one singles player Hema Hasona is in his freshman year on the Florida A&M University Rattlers men’s tennis team.

Kyle and Chase Harris, sons of Lee and Julie Harris, have continued their running careers at Berry College and Marryville University respectively.

Baulkman spent two years at Gulf Coast State College in Panama City, Florida before transfering to Tennessee for his junior and senior seasons.

As a junior at Tennessee, Baulkman appeared in 31 games and started in seven. He averaged 4.7 points and 2.3 rebounds a game while shooting .382 percent from three. As a senior he started 32 games and averaged 9.5 points in 27.4 minutes per game.

He was the Volunteers’ fourth leading scorer and scored in double digits 15 times while also leading the Vols in steals 11 times. He scored a career high 22 points against Gardner-Webb in November thanks to a career high six made three pointers.

Hasona, son of Sadi Hasona, played number one singles and helped lead coach Amy Thomas’s Bearcat tennis team to the Region 1-AAAA championship and a berth in the State Class AAAA Tennis Final Four. He is currently the number six singles player for the Rattlers.

Kyle Harris is a senior at Berry where he competes on the cross country and track teams. He was named first-team SAA All-conference following the cross-country season. He had five top-twenty finishes including a fifth place finish in the SAA Championships.

During track season he competes in the 1500-meter, 5000-meter and the 3K steeplechase.

Kyle graduated with honors and was Salutatorian of his Grace Christian Academy 2012 graduating class. He served as captain of his Grace cross country and soccer teams his junior and senior years. He was named Grace Christian Academy Male Athlete of the Year. He lettered all four years in soccer and once in basketball and baseball.

At Marryville, Chase Harris is a member of the cross country and track teams after qualifying for the GHSA state meet twice in high school. Chase finished 23rd in the Fast Cats Classic with a time of 27:40.83, his first top five team finish as a Saint. During indoor track season he participated in the mile where he finished tenth at the Principia Relays in a time of 4:51.84.
