The Bainbridge High School Lady Cat and Bearcat basketball teams were honored Thursday for their outstanding 2015-2016 seasons.

Coach Kelvin Cochran’s Lady Cats posted an outstanding 24-7 record and advanced to the elite eight round of the State Class AAAA Tournament.

Coach Rickey McCullough’s Bearcats finished second in the region and advanced to the Sweet 16 round of the State Class AAAA Tournament.

Lady Cats’ sophomore forward Nadia Marshall, who averaged 15.9 points, 9.8 rebounds and 3.8 steals a game, was honored for being first team All-Region 1-AAAA and second team All-state. Sophomore guard Tytianna Roseborough, who averaged 8.1 points and 3.1 steals a game, was honored for being second team All-Region 1-AAAA.

Senior forward Asia Gordon and senior guard Alexis Russ were honored for being named third team All-Region 1-AAAA. Gordon averaged 6.2 points, 5.8 rebounds and 3.6 steals a game and Russ averaged 6.2 points, three assists and 3.1 steals a game.

Senior team captain Asia Gordon was named best defensive player and for being the leader in drawing charges.

Russ earned the team’s assist leader award. Other Lady Cats awards went to sophomore guard Kiarra King as the most improved player, Roseborough as the best three-point shooter, senior forward and Russ as the coaches’ award winner.

Bearcats guard Tyree Crump was honored for being first team All-Region 1-AAAA and first team All-State. He averaged a team leading 22.4 points a game. Senior center Trevon Shaw and senior forward Myles Thomas were named to the All Region 1-AAAA second team. Shaw averaged 10.8 points and 7.2 rebounds a game and Thomas averaged 7.2 points and four rebounds a game.

Devontae Jones, who was named honorable mention All Region 1-AAAA, averaged 11.1 points a game.

Trump received awards for being the leading scorer, the assist leader with 107, the steals leader with 67, the best free throw percentage leader with 85 percent and the best three-point shooter with 46 percent.
