Poncherella Leonard, Zyon McGee, Jaylin Scott and Danbrell Harris will be representing the Bainbridge High School Bearcat track team at the State Class AAAA Meet May 12, 13 and 14 in Jefferson.All four qualified with strong performances at the State Class AAAA Sectional Meet Saturday in Carrollton.

Coach Larry Cosby said special congratulations should go to Scott who was the sectional winner in the 300-meter hurdles with a time of 39.24.

Leonard qualified with second place times of 4:26.30 in the 1600 meter run and 9:57.87 in the 3200 meter run. Leonard’s time broke his own school record of 4:29.26 that he set earlier this season at the Larry Clark Invitational.

McGee qualified by finishing fifth in the triple jump with a leap of 43 feet, 1 inch.

Danbrell Harris qualified by finishing third in the 300 hurdles with a time of 40.00 and finishing third in the 110 hurdles with a time of 15.01. Damian Pierce was fourteenth in the 100 with a time of 11.42.

Coach Tandria Phillips’ Lady Cats competing in Carrollton were Uriyah Davis who was eleventh in the 3200 and 1600 runs in times of 13:36.14 and 5:59.61, Amaia Taylor who was twelfth in the 100 hurdles with a time of 17.33 and thirteenth in the 300 hurdles with a time of 49.78. Iesha Smart was thirteenth in the triple jump with a leap of 32 feet, 6 inches.

Mabry Grace Briggs was sixteenth in the 800 with a time of 2:52.64 and Camry Fillingame was sixteenth in the 1600 run with a time of 6:35.09.
