The Decatur County Sheriff’s Office, Bainbridge Public Safety, Georgia Bureau of Investigation and Southwest Georgia District Attorney’s Office held a joint press conference Monday morning to announce that Demarquis Glenn, 24, is being question as a person of interest in the murder of Marcus Bell that occurred at 301 S West St. on Sep. 14, 2015.

BPS director Jerry Carter said that Glenn is being questioned by officers in connection to the September murder, but that he has not officially been charged at this time.

Glenn, who goes by the nickname “Scooter”, was arrested by DCSO on Friday, April 29, 2016 for the murder of Quentieria Knight.

Knight was found deceased in her car with multiple gunshot wounds early that Friday morning after a citizen called in a suspicious car idling with its lights on, half in the road and half in the grass on Zorn Road near Highway 27 North.

Glenn was arrested after witnesses told investigators that he had asked Knight for a ride home from Elberta Crate, where they both worked.

According to DCSO investigator Jason Williams, Glenn was picked up at Elberta Crate and taken for questioning. After interviewing Glenn, DCSO officers charged him with murder, aggravated assault and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.

During a search warrant of Glenn’s residence on Bethel Road, evidence was recovered that tied Glenn to the murder of Knight as well as the September murder of Bell.

“Some of the evidence they discovered in that search warrant were very significant to this this case and also very significant to another case of a murder that happened in the city of Bainbridge in September,” Sheriff Wiley Griffin said.

According to the BPS incident report, witnesses that were at the scene when Bell was murdered in September told BPS officers that a man who identified himself as “Scooter” came into the residence on West St on the afternoon of Sep. 14, 2016 and shot Bell.

“We have some evidence that we did collect that has been linked to both crimes,” Jamy Steinberg, the Special Agent in charge of the GBI Thomasville office, said. He denied comment on the specifics of that evidence.

DCSO Investigator Williams previously confirmed that a weapon had been recovered during the investigation of the April 29 murder. The gun was sent to the GBI crime lab for testing. Steinberg said that evidence that was collected is still at the crime lab being tested.

According to District Attorney Joe Mulholland, Glenn will have his initial bond hearing for the charges he is facing in the murder of Quentieria Knight on May 17.
