Sarah Louise Adams Simmons, 82, of Tallahassee, Fla., passed away Monday, May 23, 2016 at Westminster Oaks in Tallahassee. Louise was born January 17, 1934 in Camilla, Ga. to Orr and Iva Adams. Louise worked as a bank teller most of her adult life. She loved spending time with her grandchildren attending recitals and events, babysitting and most of all cooking for them. She enjoyed working with potted plants and she definitely had a green thumb.
Louise was preceded in death by her parents, Orr and Iva Adams; and her sisters Betty Adams Martin and Gloria Adams Danvers. Louise is survived by her son, Roy Swindle and his wife Amy Swindle of Valdosta, Ga.; daughter, Stacey Swindle Bullock and her husband Tommy Bullock of Winter Springs, Fla.; five grandchildren, Melissa Lambert and her husband Brad Lambert, Keri Toomey and her husband Aaron Toomey, Anson Swindle, Summer Swindle, Savanna Swindle; four great-grandchildren, Taylor Lambert, Trey Lambert, Ansley Swindle and Adam Toomey; brother, James Adams; sister Ann Adams Danvers; eight nieces, Cassandra Pate-Bradley, Elaine Martin, Cindy Adams Wicks, Anna Dussenberry, Faith Jordan, Gloria Ann Danvers, Sandy Danvers, Vicky Danvers Lavelle; and seven nephews, Marty Martin, Jim Adams, Jr., Michael Danvers, Stephen Danvers, Ricky Danvers, Luke Holton and Roger Clark.
A Celebration of Louise’s Life is scheduled for Sunday, June 12, 2016 at 11 a.m. at Culley’s MeadowWood Funeral Home, 700 Timberlane Road, with a reception to follow for family and friends. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Louise’s life. Immediately after the service she will be taken to her final resting place with her parents Orr and Iva Adams in the Oakview Cemetery in Camilla.
