The Bainbridge Gymnast-a-Cats competed June 30 in the AAU National Gymnastics Championship held at the ESPN Wide World of Sports complex at Disney.

The Gymnast-a-Cats are coached by Melynda Murkerson, Leslie Godwin and Gabby Hardee of Murkerson Gymnastic Training Center. In all, the Cats brought home 80 medals and all 16 girls finished the competition ranked in the top 10 nationally.

There were teams from all over the country including California and Michigan at the competition. Coach Murkerson said the girls did an outstanding job representing the state of Georgia and Murkerson Gym.

Avrie Barbree finished fourth all-around in her division. She placed second on vault with a score of 9.500, tied for ninth on bars with a score of 9.450, placed first on beam with a score of 9.475 and placed 10th on floor with a score of 9.125.

Anniston Brown finished second in the all-around competition in her division with second place finishes on vault, bars and floor and a third place finish on beam. On vault she scored a 9.100, on bars she scored a 9.700, on beam she scored a 9.050 and on floor she scored a 9.525.

Dhara Patel finished third in all-around in her division with top ten finishes in each event. She scored a 9.025 for third place on vault, a 9.400 to tie for eighth on bars, a 9.500 to finish in first on beam and a 9.375 for fifth place on floor.

Ashna Vickers finished fifth all-around in her division. She scored a 9.424 on vault, placing fourth. She scored a 9.300 on bars to tie for sixth place, a 9.075 on beam, placing fifth and a 9.450 on floor, placing fifth.

Maloree Inlow finished second all-around in her division with a score of 9.075 on vault, placing second. She scored 9.400 on bars, placing fourth, a 9.125 on beam with a tie for first and a 9.350 on floor, placing third.

Anna Mock finished fourth all-around in her division. She had a score of 8.850 on vault, placing fourth and a 9.475 on bars with a tie for third. She scored a 9.10 on beam, placing third and a 9.450 on floor, placing second.

Bansi Patel finished fourth all-around in her division, She placed eighth in vault with a score of 8.800, fifth in bars with a score of 9.250, third in beam with a score of 9.250 and third in floor with a score of 9.100.

Ashtyn Landrum placed third all-around in her division, with a score of 8.850 on vault, placing fifth, a score of 9.425 on bars to tie for second place, a score of 8.500 on beam, placing ninth and a score of 9.525 on floor, placing second.

Bailey Nunnery finished ninth all-around in her division. She scored 8.600 on vault, placing ninth, 9.275 on bars, placing tenth, 8.975 on beam to tie for second and 9.350 on floor to tie for sixth.

McCartney Bell finished eighth all-around in her division, placing sixth in vault with a score of 8.925, ninth in bars with a score of 9.125. She scored 8.725 on beam to tie for seventh and 9.175 on floor, placing seventh.

Anna Wingertsahn finished fourth all-around in her division. She placed seventh in vault with a score of 8.625, seventh in bars with a score of 9.150, eighth in beam with a score of 8.475 and first in floor with a score of 9.575.

Emma Foster finished eighth all-around in her division. She scored 8.375 on vault, placing tenth, 9.000 on bars, placing sixth, 9.150 on beam, placing fourth and 8.725 on floor, with a tie for eighth.

Bethany Nunnery finished 10th all-around in her division. She placed 10th in vault with a score of 8.450, ninth in bars with a score of 8.925, tied for fifth in beam with a score of 9.000 and ninth in floor with a score of 8.875.

Lauren Godwin finished fifth all-around in her division, with a score of 8.70 to place fifth in vault, 9.100 in bars to place sixth, 9.125 in beam to place second and 8.900 in floor to place eighth.

Marbella Rick finished third all-around in her division. She placed seventh in vault with a score of 8.90, fourth in bars with a score of 9.0, fourth in beam with a score of 9.275 and third in floor with a score of 9.55.

Carmen Fillingame finished sixth all-around in her division. She scored 8.95 on vault, placing sixth, 8.50 on bars, placing ninth, 8.80 on beam, placing seventh and 9.5 on floor, placing third.
