The Bainbridge cross-country teams traveled to Tallahassee this weekend to compete at Elinor Klapp-Phipps Park for the first meet of the season, and returned home with strong times and an even stronger base to improve upon.

The Bainbridge High School teams ran in the 5K race and the Bainbridge Middle School teams competed in the 1.8 mile run.

Nathaniel Lambert led the BHS Bearcats with a time of 19:54.4. Right behind him was Efrain Diaz with a time of 20:04.2 and Stokes Moore with a time of 20:05.0. Wright Cook rounded out the top four Bearcats with a time of 20:27.6.

Haydn Griffin clocked in at 21:08.9, Andru Matthews crossed the finish line with a time of 21:30.4, Austyn Holcombe came in at 22:38.2 and John Willis Maples posted a time of 26:09.0.

The BHS Lady Cats were led by senior Uriyah Davis with a time of 24:27.8.

Just over a minute behind her came Camry Fillingame with a time of 25:36.8. Aida Diaz came in at 26:50.0 and Alaiya Schuyler clocked in at 28:27.1. Chloe Enfinger came in fifth for the Lady Cats with a time of 31:16.1 and Caitlin Shephard cross the line at 31:39.4.

Julie Wells finished at 33:21.7 and Makayla Ingram rounded out the Lady Cats with a time of 36:53.0.

For the BMS Bearcats race, Aiden Matthews came in strong with a time of 11:53.9. Right behind him was Ashton Matthews with a time of 12:06.7.

Landon Watts clocked in at 13.12.2, Connor Poitevint came in at 13:28.8, Bryan Washington finished 14:17.0, Jared Davis came in at 14:36.4, Hunter Matthews finished at 14:47.7 and Titus Porter posted a time of 15:09.3.

Vivian Schuyler led the way for the BMS Lady Cats, crossing the finish line with a time of 14:45.0.

Emma Briggs clocked in at 15:10.7, Anna Marie Hall finished at 16:04.0, Mallarie Freeman came in at 16:48.5, Nyla Davis finished with a 18:37.8, Megan Breeden clocked in at 18:46.6 and Cassy Freeman cross the finish line at 18:50.6.

The teams have Labor Day Weekend off, but will return to the trails next Saturday, Sept. 10, for a race at Lee County.
