Lady Cats clinch playoff berth

The Bainbridge Lady Cats split a pair of games last Friday and Monday, falling 5-0 to Warner Robins but bouncing back for a big 8-0 win over Seminole County.
The Lady Cats are 7-11 (1-6 Region 1-AAAAA) and qualified for the State Playoffs this weekend.
Last Friday, the Lady Cats were down 2-0 in the bottom of the first, and weren’t able to fight their way back.
Warner Robins scored another run in the second inning, then another in the fourth and a final run in the sixth.
Big hitters were Mabry Grace Briggs, who went 2-for-3 at the plate, Tyra Jackson who went 1-for-4, Makayla Hamilton who went 1-for-3 and Haley Thompson who also went 1-for-3.
Addison Enfinger pitched five innings, striking out four batters and allowing two earned runs. Abigail Gardner pitched one inning. She struck out one while allowed another two earned runs.
The Lady Cats returned Monday ready to play against the Lady Indians, who were held to just four hits off pitcher Reilly Fletcher.
Fletcher struck out two Lady Indians while in the circle.
Mabry Grace Briggs hit a home run in the first inning, and the Lady Cats threw another seven on the board in the fourth inning to seal the deal. Briggs was 2-for-2 with two runs and two RBIs.
Taylor Swanner also was key to getting the ball in play, going 2-for-3 at the plate with one run and an RBI.
The Lady Cats scored in the fourth on Swanner’s RBI single, a passed ball, an RBI single by Desirae Beachem, an RBI single by Briggs, a sacrifice fly by Tori Sprenkle, an RBI single by CT Jones, and an RBI single by Ty Gant.
Bainbridge wrapped up the regular season Tuesday evening with a game at Worth County. The Lady secured the fourth seed in the Region Playoffs. Senior night photos can be found on page 4B.
