Lady Cougars crush Warriors

The Grace Christian Academy girls’ basketball team defeated Emmanuel Christian in dominant fashion on Friday. The Lady Cougars are now 3-2 on the season after winning the game 46-15.
Mikey Harrell was the leading scorer for GCA with 13 points and Caroline Wells was second with eight. Harrell also had four rebounds an a block and two steals and Wells had a steal.
“The ladies played with much better intensity and urgency against Emmanuel,” Coach Mike Harrell said. “Everyone played and most of the girls contributed in the scoring.”
Kaitlyn Holcombe had six points and six rebounds, Mallie Andrews has four points and a steal and Kate McRae has four points, four rebounds and four steals.
“All of the girls contributed on the defensive side of the court,” coach Harrell said. “This game gets us ready to make a run at turning things around against Aucilla Christian on Tuesday night.”
Anigail Mills with four points, Addie Elkins with three, Carly Godwin with two and Pooja Patel with two rounded out the Lady Cougars scoring in the game. Godwin also had two rebounds and Mills had one. Patel and Elkins each also had a steal.
The Lady Cougars hosted Aucilla Christian on Tuesday and travel to Highland Christian in Valdosta on Thursday.
