Betty married Wendell Odell Harrison in 1950, and lived most of her life in North Florida and Southwest Georgia. She worked as a clerk for the Florida Department of Motor Vehicles, Division of Drivers Services, retiring with 27 years of service. Betty was a member of Cairo Church of God.
Betty was a devout Christian who loved her church. She enjoyed listening to Southern gospel music, which often filled her home. Betty has been described as “the greatest cook” by her family. She tended her vegetable garden with the same care she provided to her family. As a steward of all she was given, canning vegetables was a natural hobby.
