Bainbridge Public Safety arrested another drug dealer on Monday morning. Aaron Jones of Bainbridge was arrested at approximately 9:15 a.m. and charged with possession of cocaine with intent to distribute, possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute, possession of marijuana, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.
After calls from concerned citizens about Jones selling drugs, BPS located the suspect at a female’s apartment. Upon searching the apartment, BPS officers found 25 baggies of cocaine, 10 baggies of meth, some crack-cocaine, a bag of pot, and a .22 revolver in the apartment.
“We had actually looked at him for awhile,” said BPS investigator Chip Nix. “He and another guy were involved in a shooting back and forth with each other months ago. I never could get a read on where he is and finally somebody called and said he’s been selling drugs.”
BPS went to the apartment to make contact with Jones and obtained a search warrant for the apartment. The drugs and firearm were not in plain sight in the apartment.
Jones has had past run-ins with authorities. He was out on parole for a recent burglary that he had been arrested for.
According to Nix, Jones claimed the drugs so the resident of the apartment will not be charged with anything.
The shooting that Jones was allegedly involved with took place back in January. With him in custody, BPS will try to convict him of charges related to the shooting.
