BMS boys track and field places first, girls place third in championship meet

The Bainbridge Middle School Bearcats claimed first place at the Dougherty County Middle School Championship Invitational last Thursday, and the girls got third place.
The Bearcats won with a total of 162 points, with eight first place finishes. Albany Middle School was second with 75 points.
The 4-by-100 team of Zion Bouie, Deyon Bouie, Caleb Lewis and Caleb McDowell snagged first place in a time of 45.64. The 4-by-400 team of Donye Mills, Deyon Bouie, Davonte Stepney and Caleb McDowell took first place with a time of 3:52.90.
Another 4-by-400 team including Lewis, Courtney Thomas, Bryan Washington and Rashad Broadnax took second place with a time of 3:53.90.
Caleb McDowell was first in the 100 meters with a time of 11.73 and first in the 200 meter with a time of 23.80. Deyon Bouie was second in the 100 meter with a time of 11.88 and fourth in the 200 meter with a time of 24.10.
Donye Mills crushed the 400 meter with a time of 55.10 and a first place finish. Davonte Stepney also got first in the 400 with a time of 56.43. Titus Porter came in third in the 800 meter with a time of 2:14.60. Behind him was Mark Taylor with a seventh place finish in 2:21.79.
Titus Porter ran the 1600 meter in 5:43.82 for a second place finish and Mark Taylor came through in the 1600 meter in 5:45.05 for third place.
Deyon Bouie leapt into first place in the high jump with a jump of 5-feet-7-inches. Caleb McDowell took second place in the high jump with a 5-foot-7-inch leap.
Courtney Thomas was fourth in the long jump at 18-feet-7-inches and Eric Sanders was eighth in the long jump at 17-feet-2-inches.
Fifth place in the triple jump was claimed by Eric Sanders at 32-feet-2-inches and Donye Mills took seventh place in the triple jump at 32-feet-2-inches.
Lawson Chandler threw his way to first place in the shot put with a 41-foot-5-inch toss and Tymere Wimberly took sixth with a 34-foot-9-inch throw.
Blaze Allen came in fifth in the discus with a 107-foot-8-inch throw and Tymere Wimberly took eighth with an 83-foot-2-inch throw.
The Lady Cats had three first place finishes.
The 4-by-100 team of Ashanta Peterson, Emma Briggs, Ahmara Register and Angel Peterson came in sixth place in a time of 54.90.
The 4-by-100 team of Makayla Kincaid, Diah Brown, Ashjua Walden and Sanya Davis finished in eighth with a time of 56.09.
Ashanta Peterson, Emma Briggs, Ahmara Register and Angel Peterson came in fifth in the 4-by4—with a time of 4:56.20.
Angel Peterson clocked in at 14:15 in the 100 meter for eighth place. Ahmara Register came in seventh in the 200 meter with a time of 28.04, Emma Briggs came in seventh place in the 400 meter with a time of 1:08.24, Isabella Dean came in first in the 800 meter with a 2:43.85. Tyneisha Galloway was behind her in seventh with a time of 3:09.79.
Viviana Schuyler came in first in the 1600 meter in a time of 6:26.62 and also claimed fourth in the 75-meter hurdle in a time of 13.90. Emma Briggs got second in the high jump with a four-foot leap and Detavia Salters claimed seventh in the high jump at 3-feet-10-inches.
Angel Peterson got fifth in the long jump with a leap of 13-feet-8-inches and Ahmara Register was in sixth with the same distance. Register also got seventh in the triple jump with a 27-foot-1-inch jump.
Taralyn Brown got second in the shot put with a throw of 27-feet-5-inches and Detavia Salters got fourth with a throw of 26-feet-9-inches.
Raven Williams threw the discus 81-feet and claimed first place and Latricia Curry was behind her at second place with a 62-foot-3-inch throw.
