Bainbridge wide receivers coach Mike Harville will step into the offensive coordinator position this season to replace former OC Scott Roberts, and a new offensive line coach will be joining the Bearcats to replace Jason Whittaker.

Harville was the offensive coordinator at Lee County High for five years before coming to Bainbridge as the wide receiver’s coach in 2015.

“Our philosophies match a lot,” coach Jeff Littleton said. “He does some things and has some experience with things that I wanted to add, so it meshed well.”

Harville coached Bainbridge record-breaking wide receiver Tyler Storey during the 2015 season. According to Littleton, the players really like him.

“He is very knowledgeable on the offensive side,” Littleton said. “He brings a lot of experience. He is very fundamental in his teaching, especially with quarterbacks and receivers. He is a good fit for what we want to do.”

A replacement for the now-empty wide receivers coach position is still being searched for.

Ryan Kineard will be Bainbridge’s new offensive line and strength and conditioning coach.

Kineard graduated from Early County High in Blakely and played college football at Furman University in South Carolina. Bouncing around from high school coaching jobs in Georgia and South Carolina and a grad assistant strength and conditioning coach at Clemson, Kineard comes to Bainbridge with plenty of experience.

“He understands our kids,” Littleton said. “He has extensive experience in strength and conditioning. I like where he has been high school wise, and he got a lot of stuff from Clemson. After meeting with him I knew he would be a good fit.”

The Bearcats begin spring practice in May.
