Emmie Griffin Aultman, 99, of Bainbridge, Ga., passed away Thursday, September 14, 2017.

The graveside funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, September 16, 2017, at Roselawn Memory Gardens with Rev. David Grubbs and Rev. Greg Ford officiating. Emmie Rhea Burma Griffin was born January 12, 1918, in Bainbridge, the daughter of Wiley and Dosha Josey Griffin. She was a graduate of Pine Hill High School. “Miss. Emmie” was the oldest living member of Mt. Zion Baptist church and was a pillar not only to Mt. Zion Baptist Church but the entire Pine Hill Community. She lived her faith and was known to be the hands and feet of Christ in her community. Emmie had a knack for knowing how to help anyone in need, whether she was consoling them by the simple acts of raking their yards or cleaning their house, she just knew what they needed when they needed it. “Miss Emmie” loved being in her kitchen and delighted in folks leaving her table very satisfied. Her unimpeachable character was one of ” do what is right, because it is right.”

Survivors include her son, Hilton Aultman and his wife, Margaret, of Bainbridge; and her grandchildren Roy Evans Aultman and Laura Aultman Sanna. She was preceded in death by her husband, Owen W. Aultman; her son, Elwyn Aultman; her siblings, Verdie Mae Griffin Floyd, Lillie Griffin Mahn, Inez Griffin Jones, Woodrow Griffin, Rosa Griffin Mahan, W.M. “Wiley” Griffin II, Ress Griffin Clark; and her grandson, Rex William Aultman.
