At approximately 11:50 p.m. Sunday, a 2010 red Volkswagen Jetta overcorrected while heading north on Miller Avenue, leading to the death of driver Shawn Green, 31, of Bainbridge, Calvin Henderson, 33, of Tallahassee and Malik Chrispen, 19, of Bainbridge.

The victims succumbed to their injuries upon impact and it took Bainbridge Public Safety almost two hours to help get the occupants out of the vehicle due to the nature of the crash.

The vehicle was traveling North on Miller Avenue in Decatur County when it traveled off the roadway and onto the East shoulder of Miller Avenue.  The driver attempted to re-enter the roadway, but overcorrected his steering.  As a result, the vehicle began to rotate causing the driver to lose control.  The vehicle then left the roadway completely, striking a tree.

Georgia State Patrol didn’t finish clearing the scene until 5 a.m.
