Organizers for the Arts for Animals event held last Saturday say it was a success, according to Shelter Director Ashley White. She said they raised $18,000 toward their building fund.
“It was a lot of work to get ready, but it seemed to go over really well,” she said.
Most of the artwork sold out, and the few pieces left were put in a live auction that produced a lot of friendly competition among attendees. It was so successful they plan to do it again.
“Everyone loved the food prepared by Crave’s Lori Shiver, and there was amazing piano music by Daniel Jones, a 9th grader at Grace,” explained White.
All in all, she believed the effort was worth it, not only financially, but it seemed as if it provided a good time for those in attendance.
