BHS tennis sweeps Warner Robins

Friday afternoon the Bainbridge High School Bearcats and Lady Bearcats won their region matchup against Warner Robins 5-0.
The Lady Bearcats started off strong, with singles player, Gracie Surratt, winning 6-0, 6-0. Sydnee Burke followed Surratt’s lead and won her game 6-0, 6-0.
Doubles team, Jade Stacey and Bree Powell, won with a double bagel, meaning they beat the other team 6-0 both times. In singles play, Mikey Harrell also hit a double bagel.
Doubles team, Madison Wiggins and Piper, played a strong game and kept the lead, winning 6-1, 6-0.
Following the Lady Bearcats, the Bearcats kept the momentum up and won their matches.
Number one singles player, Mark Loeffler, came out swinging and had a victory of 6-1, 6-0. Robert Shockley nailed his matchup, winning 6-0, 6-0.
Number one doubles team, Hudson Barber and Cole Buchanan followed up Shockley’s victory with a double bagel of their own. Lawson Humphrey and Jacob Reynolds won their match 6-0, 6-1.
Singles player, Dalton Savage, closed out the match winning 6-0 in his first match and a closer game 0f 6-4 in his second match.
Coach Amy Thomas was excited to get their second 5-0 win in region play.
“We look forward to more games,” she said. “We want to show everyone what we’ve been working for.”
The tennis team will held to Albany State’s east campus Wednesday for their match against Harris County at 4 p.m.
