Bearcats sweep last 3 games

The Bainbridge baseball team beat region opponent Warner Robins in a doubleheader last Friday and traveled to Tift County for a win on Monday.
Bainbridge got out to a five-run lead in the sixth inning and held on for a 5-3 victory over Tift County on Monday. Tift County scored three runs in the failed comeback on a double by Will Weeks and a single by Keyshawn Mays.
Tift County scored three runs in the sixth inning, but the Bearcats still managed to pull out the victory. Tift County batters contributing to the big inning included Weeks and Mays, who each had RBIs in the inning.
Bainbridge got things moving in the second inning, when Mays induced Ivan Velasquez to hit into a fielder’s choice, but one run scored.
Will Kelley earned the win for Bainbridge . He surrendered three runs on eight hits over five and a third innings, striking out seven and walking one. Nick Barber and Cayden Sconyers entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief. Barber recorded the last four outs to earn the save for Bainbridge.
Mays took the loss for Tift County. He lasted five and a third innings, allowing eight hits and four runs while striking out five.
The Bearcats racked up 12 hits in the game. Dalton Harrell, Walt Burrell, and Griffin Long all had multiple hits for the team. Harrell went 3-for-3 at the plate to lead Bainbridge in hits.
Tift County scattered nine hits in the game. Mays and Weeks all managed multiple hits for Tift County. Mays led Tift County with three hits in four at bats.
Nine batters came up against Nick Barber and not a single one could touch him in game one against the Demons last Friday. A perfect game led Bainbridge past Warner Robins 15-0.
Bainbridge tallied seven runs in the second inning. Its offense in the inning came from walks by Conner Strickland and Caleb Boutwell, an error on a ball put in play by Will Kelley and Dalton Harrell, and a fielder’s choice by Walt Burrell.
Barber pitched Bainbridge to victory. He went three innings, allowing zero runs on zero hits, striking out eight and walking zero.
Ben Johnson took the loss for Warner Robins. He allowed two hits and ten runs over one and one-third innings, striking out two.
Bainbridge launched two home runs on the day. Strickland went for the long ball in the third inning. Kelley had a dinger in the first inning.
Strickland went 2-for-2 at the plate to lead Bainbridge in hits. The Bearcats didn’t commit a single error in the field. Griffin Long had seven chances in the field, the most on the team.
The Bearcats defeated Warner Robins 11-1 in game two thanks to six runs in the second inning. The big inning was ignited by an error on a ball put in play by Griffin Long and Walt Burrell, a single by Conner Strickland, a sac fly by Quayde Hawkins, a groundout by Randy Fillingame and a double by Will Kelley.
Bainbridge got its offense going in the first inning. An error scored one run for Bainbridge High School Varsity.
They then put up six runs in the second inning.
Dalton Harrell took the win for Bainbridge on the mound He lasted four innings, allowing one hit and one run while striking out ten and walking one. Cayden Sconyers threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen.
The Bearcats tallied eight hits. Kelley and Michael Conder each managed multiple hits for Bainbridge. Kelley led the team with three hits in four at bats.
