June McCall

June Ramona Greene McCall, age 99, of Carrollton, Georgia, passed away Wednesday, April 18, 2018.

Mrs. McCall was born in Yadkin College, North Carolina on March 17, 1919, the daughter of the late George Homer Greene, Sr. and Helen Hartley Green. She married Jesse Philip McCall of Dothan Ala., February 7, 1942. After his discharge from the Army in 1945 they lived in Attapulugus, Ga. before moving to Carrollton in 1992. She retired as a RN at Southwestern State Hospital in Bainbridge in 1979. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church and of the Adult Friendship Class.

Survivors include her sons, George Allen McCall, Sr. of Carrollton, Jesse Philip McCall, Jr. of Ellijay, Ga., four grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; sister, Nancy Greene Adkins of Yadkin College, NC. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Monte L. Greene, George Homer Greene and Rhett Edward Greene.

Memorial services will be Sunday, April 29, 2018, at 4 p.m.. from the chapel of Almon Funeral Home with Dr. Dean Milford and Rev. Ken Stephens officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Yadkin College Cemetery Fund, 427 Brooks Circle, Lexington, NC 27295, Attn Mrs. Nancy Brooks.

Interment will be in the Yadkin College Cemetery in Yadkin College, NC.
