Attapulgus’s own Elephant Refuge North America (ERNA) invites you and your family to discover the Refuge’s gently rolling hills, lush pastures and dense forests from an elephant’s point of view. The inaugural HIKE THE ELEPHANT TRAILS is scheduled for Saturday, May 26, 2018, from 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. at ERNA, 404 Laslie Rd, Attapulgus, GA, 39815. Register on line. The hike is rated easy to difficult with the trails traversing 750 acres of forest, pastures and two lakes. You will be the first to enjoy this scenic beauty before elephants arrive. For the more adventurous hikers, there are offshoots of the main moderate trails that dead-end at the bottom of hills thus providing uphill challenges.

You are also invited to bring a lunch to enjoy at Elephant Lake.

The admission fee of $25 benefits the non-profit organization Elephant Aid International, developers of ERNA. Memorial t-shirts are available; order on line. Sign up early, space is limited!

To ensure a safe day for everyone minors must be accompanied by an adult and

people/dog/wildlife friendly pet dogs will be allowed but must be kept on leash at all times.

This is a tobacco-free and alcohol-free event. Participation will be limited to 50 hikers, so you are encouraged to register, before the event, online at ElephantAidInternational.org.

Please note, there are no elephants on the property at this time.
