Eighth grade Bearcats take home win against WMS

The Bainbridge Middle School eighth grade football team snuck away with a close on Wednesday at Washington Middle School, where the Bearcats beat the Tigers in an 8-6 nail biter.
The first half of the game went by scoreless, but Bainbridge running back Donte Broadnax broke through in the third quarter with a 6-yard run to score. The 2-point conversion was made by running back Tevon Moore. Bainbridge’s touchdown was a culmination of nine plays and 59 yards down the field.
Key plays in the drive were Broadnax blasting through for a 17-yard and a 9-yard run.
Cairo got its score on the final play of the game. The Washington quarterback threw a 56-yard pass to a wide receiver, who took it all the way to the end zone. A halfback pass for the 2-point conversion failed.
A penalty following the touchdown, moved the 2-point conversion attempt back to the 18-yard line.
Washington then attempted a halfback pass that was overthrown to the back of the end zone.
