Tuesday afternoon, GSP Post 14 reported two separate fatal crashes that resulted in three deaths.
At approximately 1:14 p.m. , Calvin Hunter, 79, struck the back of a 2010 John Deere Tractor and died from injuries on scene.
GSP reported Hunter was traveling north on GA 309, while the tractor was parked on the shoulder of the roadway. The driver, Javann Thomas, 49, had exited the tractor to close a field gate. Due to the size of the tractor and the ditch, Thomas could not fully exit the road, and had the left tires still on the roadway.
For unknown reasons, Hunter did not see the tractor and truck the rear tires with the front of his vehicle.
At 11:53 a.m., a two-vehicle collision occurred on GA 91 in Seminole County. Paul Dukes, 74, was traveling south on 91, when Kenneth Scarborough, 62, crossed the centerline for unknown reasons. This resulted in a head-on collision.
Both drivers sustained fatal injuries and died on scene. Dukes was also traveling with Annie Price, 75, who received serious injuries and was transported via helicopter to the hospital.
