Due to the cancellation of community wide trick- or- treating, Play Bainbridge will be hosting “Trunk or Treat” on Halloween night from 6- 8 p.m. at the Bill Reynolds Sports Complex.
The Recreation Authority wanted to give the community something to do because they realize kids still want to participate in activities and everyone needs something to look forward to.
They will have inflatables and a hayride for kids to enjoy, along with slushees, hotdogs and popcorn for everyone to snack on.
In addition they will be hosting a costume competition and best decorated trunk contest.
They will have various age categories for kids to compete in. Ages 0-2, 3-5, 6-8, 9-12 are the different ranges.
Anyone who would like to can set up a table or decorate their trunk and give out candy. The entire event will be free, but if one would like to give a monetary donation to help buy candy they can do so on the Play Bainbridge website. They can also sign up to include their trunk there.
The Recreation Authority said they already have a lot of interest in the event and are very excited. People have already asked if this event will become an annual activity, and while they have not thought much about it, the Recreation Authority said that is certainly always a possibility.
