Bainbridge FFA members bring home honors from Athens

The Bainbridge High FFA Meats Team recently placed 4th in the State FFA Meats Evaluation & Technology Career Development Event.
The event was held at the Rhodes Center on the UGA Campus in Athens, GA on Saturday, November 3rd.
The Meats Evaluation & Technology Career Development Event develops the abilities of students to evaluate meat animal products in order to optimize economic returns to producers and industry as well as to meet the needs of consumers.
The event motivates students to become knowledgeable consumers of meat and meat animal products. Participants take a written examination, identify retail cuts, and grade carcasses on quality and yield grade. Team members include Casey Clemons, Allie Grace Fitzgerald, Sara Matthews and Samantha Worthington. Sara Matthews was 4th high individual overall and Samantha Worthington was 5th high individual overall.
FFA is a national organization of over 660,000 members preparing for leadership and careers in the science, business and technology of agriculture. FFA is an integral part of the agricultural education program in public schools. The FFA mission is to make a positive difference in the lives of students by developing their potential for premier leadership, personal growth and career success through agricultural education.
