Harrison, Fillingame, McDowell named on Recruit Georgia’s list

Defensive lineman Roman Harrison, linebacker Randy Fillingame and returner Caleb McDowell were named on Recruit Georgia’s Class AAAAA All-State team.
Harrison, the Region 1-AAAAA Defensive Player of the Year, is also currently leading the pack in Recruit Georgia’s Class AAAAA player of the year, hauling in almost 72 percent of the 2,000 votes cast. Jamious Griffin, of Rome, has 16 percent of votes and Dylan Fromm, of Warner Robins, has 12 percent of the votes.
Roman Harrison had 97 tackles, 32 tackles for loss and 9 sacks on the year for the state champion Bainbridge Bearcats. He blocked what could have been the game-winning field goal with 6 second left on the clock against Warner Robins in the state title. Wednesday, he signed his letter of intent to play for Tennessee.
Harrison, a three-star recruit, is the only player from Bainbridge’s 2019 class signed to a college. So far.
Fillingame, a captain throughout the Bearcats 2018 state championship season and a voice of leadership on the team, has produced in huge ways for Bainbridge. He had 123 tackles, 31 tackles for a loss and forced four fumbles and an interception this season. Fillingame’s aggressive defensive playing has helped swing momentum in favor of Bainbridge in multiple games this season.
McDowell, a sophomore, earned the returner spot on the All-State list for his huge runs throughout the season, including a 100-yard kick-off return for a touchdown against Buford in the state quarterfinals. He racked up 1,700 all purple yards and 17 touchdowns for Bainbridge this season. He also had 35 tackles, two interceptions and two forced fumbles.
McDowell scored a touchdown and threw a touchdown pass in the Bearcats’ state championship game.
