Bainbridge basketball beats Cairo on the road

Last Friday night, the Bainbridge Bearcats (8-11, 1-3 region) basketball team scored a big win against the rival Cairo Syrupmakers, but the Lady Cats (10-10, 1-3 region) barely lost to the Lady Syrupmakers 52-50 in overtime. Both teams came out the following night and dropped games on the road against region opponent Warner Robins.
Friday against Cairo, Bearcatswho led the team were JaKorian’s Lockhart with 18 points, Jeremiah Davis with 15 points and Deyon Bouie with 12 points. Other scorers for the Bearcats were Bryce Jones with 8 points, Anthony Florence and Dewayne Kyles with 7 points each, TJ Tarver with 5 points and Kalun Brown and Tyrell Bryant with 4 points each.
In double figures for the Lady Cats were Zycheria Russ and Destiny Turner with 10 points each. Other scorers for the Lady Cats were Ziauna Andrews with 9 points, Taralyn Brown with 7 points, Detavia Salter and Denise Chappell with 4 points each and Tykeia Campbell and Mycha Myers Harris with 3 points each.
The Bearcats lost to the Demons 56-39. Scoring contributors for the Bearcats were Deyon Bouie and Tyrell Bryant with 8 points each, JaKorian Lockhart with 6 points, Bryce Jones with 5 points, TJ Tarver with 4 points, Jeremiah Davis with 3 points, Kalun Brown and Dwayne Kyles with 2 pints each Anthony Florence with 1 point.
Saturday against Warner Robins, the Lady Cats fell 61-44. In double figures for the Lady Cats was Zycheria Russ with 18 points. Other scorers for the Lady Cats were Destiny Turner with 7 points, Ziauna Andrews with 6 points, Taralyn Brown and Denise Chappell with 4 points each, Detavia Salter with 3 points and Tykeia Campbell with 2 points.
Bainbridge plays Harris County on the road this Friday, with the girls tipping off at 6 p.m. and the boys at 7:30 p.m.
The teams then return home Saturday for games against Veterans, with the girls tipping off at 5 p.m. and the boys at 6:30 p.m.
