The Bainbridge wrestling team got two more big wins Thursday night when they beat Northview (Dothan) 54-24 and Leon (Tallahassee) 60-18.
“All of our guys wrestled well,” said coach Chad Smith. “We are really pulling it together at the right time.”
With the Cairo Invitational coming up next Saturday and then the season ending region tournament on Friday, Feb. 1, Smith said he was feeling good about his team’s chances on the mat against their region opponents.
“I anticipate sending most of the team to the first round of the state tournament in McDounogh at Union Grove High,” said Smith. “If we wrestle well, about 9 of the 13 should move on to wrestle for a chance at placing at the state tournament.”
The state tournament will take place Feb. 12-16 in Macon.
