Decatur County Revolution veterans recognized on Blakely memorial

On Nov. 10, 2018, a veterans monument was unveiled in Blakely honoring these men who fought or gave service during the American Revolution.
They are as follows:
Henry Hutto, Jacob Sutton, Patrick Calhoun, Jr., Joel Darcey, Thomas Fain, George G. Gaines, Reddick Ganey, Jacob Harrell, William Kemp, Isaac Lester, Phillip Pittman, Zoath Spooner, James W. Alexander, Josiah Baggett, Clark Blanford, Jesse Brown, Zacheriah Cowart, William Nevis, Simon Hadley, William Hawthorn, Joseph E. Singletary, George Roddenberry, William Sweatman and Ansell Ferrell.
This monument is unique and brings recognition to the men that helped to settle and develop this area and is the accomplishment of President Steve Peace and members of the Joel Early Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution.
