Bearcats’ offense gets hot on way to 12-1 win

Bainbridge bumped up to 4-5 on the season Tuesday after crushing Dothan 12-1 in five innings.
Eight runs in the second inning pushed the Bearcats out of reach for the Tigers. The offensive onslaught by Bainbridge was led by Colton Harrell, Jackson McCullough, Ivan Velasquez and Bo Shirah, who all drove in runs.
Bainbridge got things moving in the first inning when Harrell singled on a 3-2 count, scoring one run.
The Bearcats put up another eight runs in the second inning. Batters contributing to the big inning included Harrell, McCullough, Velasquez, and Shirah, all knocking in runs in the inning.
Kaleb Varnum got the win for Bainbridge. He lasted two innings, allowing two hits and one run while striking out four and walking zero. Wesley Morrow and Nolan Barr entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief. Barr allowed a hit and struck out one batter, and Morrow struck out four.
Bainbridge had 10 hits in the game. Harrell and Jaheim Jenkins all had multiple hits for the Bearcats. Jenkins and Harrell each collected two hits to lead the team. Bainbridge didn’t commit a single error in the field. Harrell had the most chances in the field with six.
