Late rally falls short for Bearcat baseball

The Bainbridge Bearcats baseball team watched the game slip away early and couldn’t recover in a 5-2 loss to Leon on Tuesday.
Leon took the lead on a wild pitch in the first inning.
The Lions got on the board in the first inning. Jackson McCullough threw a wild pitch allowing one run across the plate for Leon.
The Bearcats scored two runs im the sixth inning to make the game 5-2, but couldn’t catch up in the seventh.
Jordan Smith earned the win for Leon. He allowed two hits and zero runs over five innings, striking out one and walking zero.
McCullough took the loss for Bainbridge Bearcats Varsity. He allowed one hit and one run over two innings, striking out two.
McCullough, Quayde Hawkins and Colton Harrell each collected one hit to lead Bainbridge Bearcats Varsity.
The Lions only outhit the Bearcats 4-3, but Bainbridge recorded two erros in the game.
