Brent Miller elected to serve as an area FFA officer

Brent Miller, a member of the Bainbridge High FFA chapter, was elected to serve as the 2019-2020 Area 5 Vice President on May 13th during the Area 5 Awards Ceremony held at Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College.

Jr Representatives – Carolyne Turner – WJ Williams Middle and Jacob Harper – Pelham High
Throughout the school year, Brent and his fellow officers will have the opportunity to represent Area 5 and over 12,000 FFA members in the South Region at a variety of teachers meetings, career development events, leadership conferences and area training activities. This past weekend these teams joined together with the four other Area Officer Teams from all over the state of Georgia to undergo training for these positions earned. These students learned leadership skills, communication skills and how to work as a team this year.
This fall the Area Officer Team will plan and conduct the South Region Leadership Rally for more than 1,000 FFA members. Next spring, each Area Officer team will be responsible for conducting their respective Area banquet and award assemblies. The officers will also serve as courtesy corps at the 91st State FFA Convention in Macon in April 2019.
The Georgia FFA Association has a membership of more than 42,000, making it the third largest association in the nation. The National FFA Organization, formerly known as the Future Farmers of America, changed its name in 1988 to reflect the growth and diversity of agriculture.
