Bainbridge graduate Gage Kempton was awarded the 2019 Future Business Leaders Scholarship award by American Pawn and Jewelry last Friday.
The Future Business Leaders Scholarship Program was established to provide scholarships to individual applicants who are planning to enroll, or are enrolled at an accredited four-year university.
Qualified applicants are the children, grandchildren, employee or individual sponsored by a member in good standing in the National Pawn Brokers Association. Student selection is based on academic performance, community leadership and written essay submissions.
“This scholarship would mean a lot to myself and my family,” wrote Kempton in his essay. “My father is a veteran police officer and my mother is employed with American Pawn and Jewelry as a business manager. They have set great examples for me to work hard and give back to my community.”
Gage will attend Valdosta State University this fall. American Pawn will celebrate 20 years of business in Bainbridge this November.
