Bainbridge X-C holds down home course

The Bainbridge Bearcats varsity cross-country team protected its home turf well last Saturday at the Bearcat Invitational, hauling in a second place finish behind three sub-20-minute 5K runners.
Stokes Moore took third place overall out of 134 runners with a time of 17:29.53, just over half a minute behind the overall first place winner and a full 30 seconds in front of the next closest runner.
Landon Watts was next across the finish line for Bainbridge with a 19:15 finish and Jared Davis was only a few seconds behind him with a 19:19 finish.
Aiden Matthews finished at 20:53, Donye Mills clocked in at 21:04, Andru Matthews finished at 21:06, Tom Emmons finished with a 21:34, Ashton Matthews crossed the finish line with a time of 21:39, DeZhreon Donaldson clocked in at 22:17 and Joe Emmons finished at 22:37.
The Lady Cats took sixth place overall in the girls varsity race. Rylan Bland ran a 24:07, Raidyn Oliver clocked in at 27:54, Kayla Braswell finished at 33:25, Katelyn Miller clocked in at 34:31, Olevia Davis finished at 35:04 and Sara Matthews clocked in at 35:46.
The Grace Christian Academy boys varsity team had an eighth place finish, led by Wyatt Carpenter, who took fifth place overall with a time of 18:05. Daniel Jones finished with a 19:04, Gabe Parker clocked in at 19:57, Jack Holden finished at 21:19, Kevin Brooks clocked in at 23:43, Ben York crossed the finish line at 24:29, Jackson McConnell finished at 24:48, Jay Lanier clocked a 29:52, Isaac Friedman came through at 31:02 and Garrett Donalson finished at 31:52.
For the GCA Lady Cougars varsity squad, Callie Widner finished at 28:32, Dani Parker clocked in at 29:03, Abigail Anderson clocked in at 31:03, Lilah Widner finished at 31:29, Mel Bodrey crossed the finish line at 35:09 and Kassidy Widener clocked in at 36:32.
