Carpenter leads Cougars X-C to first place in Milner

Wyatt Carpenter led the charge for the Grace Christian Academy boys varsity cross-country team last Saturday in Milner with a time of 17:25, taking first place and leading the next runner by almost 45 seconds.
The Cougars finished first place overall at the meet, held at Rock Springs Christian Academy.
Behind Carpenter was Daniel Jones with a time of 18:43, Gabe Parker with a time of 19:19, Jack Holden with a time of 20:10, Seth Parker with a time of 21:19, Kevin Brooks with a time of 21:56, Jackson McConnell with a time of 23:13, Ben York with a time of 23:31 and Jay Lanier with a time of 27:38.
For the GCA Lady Cougars, Callie Widner led charge with a time of 27:08, followed by Dani Parker at 27:14, Lilah Widner with a time of 28:28, Abigail Anderson with a time of 31:06, Mel Bodrey with a time of 34:05 and Kassidy Widner at 34:14.
For the middle school boys 2-mile run, Dawson Worsley clocked in at 13:25, followed by Owen Earnest at 13:44, Cade Wells at 14:10, Walker Elrod at 14:21, Trey Henderson at 16:37 and John Walker at 18:31.
The middle school girls were led by Kate Poitevint with a time of 15:38, then Carlee Dollar at 17:05 and Kate Sigman at 18:10.
