Robert Walker Fite was born January 10, 1969 in Bainbridge, the son of Wilburn O. and Rheba Green Fite. He attended Bainbridge High School and worked at Shaw Industries until his retirement. Robert was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.

“Big Rob” was known not only for his physical size, but the size of his heart. He loved his family, including those not blood related. Anything he had, including a good time, he was willing to share if it brought a smile to your face. “Big Rob” was the president and CEO of The Fite Club of Bainbridge, and his happy-go-lucky charm made recruiting members easy. “Big Rob” enjoyed listening to The Bobby Bones Show, hunting and fishing, but drag racing was his passion. Many stories, some completely true and some a little stretched, are still shared among the parking lot crew.

Survivors include his siblings, Sharon & Jim Brogdon of Trenton, SC, David & Lorrie Fite of Andalusia, Ala., Carol Fite of Havana, Fla., Debra & Kim Cleveland of Colquitt, Ga., Richard & Angie Fite of Donalsonville, Ga. and Mary Fite of Havana, Fla.; his nieces and nephews, Lee, Stephen, Scott, William, Michael, Ryan, Amanda and Brandon; and his special friends, Missy, Mackenzie and Marlee. Robert was preceded in death by his parents; and his sister, Barbara Fite Graham.
