Those with New Year’s Resolutions to get in shape have a brand new, public fitness court to work out on at Chason Park in Bainbridge.
A ribbon cutting was held Saturday morning for the grand opening of the free outdoor court. Bainbridge is the first community in Georgia to join the National Fitness Campaign to make world-class fitness freely available to residents.
The Chason Park Fitness Court features an outdoor bodyweight circuit training facility designed to transform public spaces into community fitness hubs. It is part of a nationwide effort launched by National Fitness Campaign (NFC), and city leaders are teaming up with local ambassadors to connect their fitness community to free activities and experiences that encourage a healthy lifestyle.
“We’re excited to bring our campaign to make world-class fitness free to Bainbridge,” said Mitch Menaged, Founder of National Fitness Campaign. “Together with the city and Collaborative Impact for Decatur County, NFC is happy to be part of a wellness network growing across the nation. With funding to reach 1,000 cities and schools by 2022, our Fitness Courts, free mobile app, classes and clinics are building healthy habits for millions of people.”
Residents are invited to attend an Opening Day Launch Party on tomorrow morning, Jan. 11, at 9 a.m. for express classes on the new outdoor Fitness Court, free giveaways, and more.
Residents can download the free app now on iOS and Android to see all the ways their new Fitness Court can support outdoor functional fitness.
