Joyce Barber Mesurac, 73, of Stone Mountain, Ga., passed away on May 21, 2020 in Decatur, Ga. (DeKalb Co).
Joyce was born in Miami Beach, Fl. (Dade Co) to Naomi F. Albury Barber Worley & Harry C Barber Sr. on August 13, 1946. She was a graduate of Miami Jackson HS (1964) & Samford Univ. (1971) in Birmingham, AL. She was married to Charles F Mesurac Jr on March 31, 1972 at First Baptist Church of Atlanta by Dr. Charles Stanley. She worked in medical billing for over 25 years and retired from Southeastern Lung Care in May 2014. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She enjoyed cooking, crocheting, reading, loving all animals, being a DeKalb Co. Jaycette, clogging, & volunteering at her children’s HS.
Joyce is preceded in death by her parents, (brothers) Harry C Jr. & Thomas R and is survived by (husband) Charles F. Mesurac Jr., (sons) Charles F. III (Carl) & Jennifer, Christopher Roy (Chris) & Penny Bouchard, (daughter) Aimee Mesurac Fortner & David, 10 grandchildren and many nieces & nephews.
Due to the ongoing concerns regarding the COVID-19 pandemic, a private graveside funeral service will be held at Bethany Baptist Church with Dave Ratcliff officiating. Arrangements are by Ivey Funeral Home, Bainbridge, Ga.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to lucernebaptist.org in Lilburn, Ga. or Bethany Baptist Church in Brinson, Ga.
