Anchor Club Recognizes Achievements of the Year at Awards Ceremony

BHS Anchor Club held their annual banquet to recognize Anchors for their hard work this past semester and to induct new members for the upcoming school year. President for 2021-22, Paige Overman welcomed everyone, and Hadleigh Klock gave an invocation. The 2021-2022 offers were then recognized before the 2022-2023 officers were announced: Brennyn Timmons, President; Mackenzie Antis, President Elect; Alex Hatcher, Secretary; Taryn Powell, Treasurer; Madelyn Lowe, Chaplain; Sanaa’ Hines, Community Chair; and Teri McCord, Publicity Chair. These officers were sworn in by Pilot Club President Gail Sharber. Fourteen new members were welcomed into the world of Anchor Club. The following Anchors recited the creed and were formally inducted into the Bainbridge High School Anchor Club: Benji Anderson, Thomas Brock, Cooper Genovar, Andreika Green, Kendrick Henry, Gurpreet Kaur, Shakira Lawrence, Jebson Logue, Bailey McNurlan, Natalie Moore, Bansi Patel, Saraiyah Porter, Nicole Tyre, and Dax Willis. During the 2021-2022 school year, Anchors accrued over 665 volunteer hours, 406 in the specific name of Anchor Club. The recipients for the Most Service Hours Award in their cohort were as follows: Anastasia Davis (10th), Teri McCord (11th), and Paige Overman (12th). The recipient for Member of the Year, voted on by current members, was Hieu Nguyen. BHS’ Anchors did an excellent job over the semester and will continue to render service to their home, school, and community for the years to come.
