Mr. Chason passed away at Archbold Hospital in Thomasville on May 2, 2023, after an extended illness. Keith, as he was called, was born on May 15, 1967, to Hollis and Mildred Brinson Chason in Whigham. He graduated from Whigham High School in 1985 and married the love of his life, Pam Bailey, in 1986. A son was born to this marriage in 1992. His wife, Pam, suddenly passed away in July 2000. Keith was devastated and his life was forever changed in so many ways.
He worked at Shaw Industries in Bainbridge for 30 years. He loved drag racing, particularly Junior Drag Racing, as he was devoted in supporting his son in his Junior Drag Racing participation. The numerous trophies and plaques earned are a testament to the devotion to his son’s love for that sport. The apples of his eye were his two granddaughters, Alisa and Ella Grace.
For the last 2 years and 4 months Keith lived in his childhood home in Whigham. By this time, due to his muscular dystrophy, he was mostly confined to a power wheelchair, but he was as independent as possible and loved growing flowers of all kinds and working in the yard. He was able to do some amazing yard activities from the confines of his wheelchair. He was a member of El Bethel Baptist Church in Whigham and was a friend to many.
Keith is survived by his son, Brian Keith Chason, Jr., granddaughters, Alisa Chason and Ella Grace Chason, sisters, Gloria Pyles (Tommy) and Lisa Calhoun (Hunter), brother, Wallace Chason (Anita), and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was predeceased by his wife, his parents, and two sisters, Bonnie Chason Michael and Mary Chason Porter.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to El Bethel Baptist Church, 643 Old 179 S, Whigham, GA. 39897
