Margaret Nell Brown Neely Gilley was born on October 29, 1938, in Washington, Ga., and grew up in Wrightsville, Ga. She graduated college from Georgia Teachers College (now Georgia Southern) where she met and married Reuben Neely on March 16, 1958.
She taught at Sneads High School, Bainbridge Christian School, and then Hutto Middle School until her retirement.
Her loving husband of 44 years passed into eternity on July 12, 2002. She was remarried to William Clifford “Cliff” Gilley on February 10, 2007, who also passed away on January 18, 2021.
She passed peacefully from this earth into the arms of her loving Savior on July 27, 2023. She is survived by her daughter, Miriam Fleisher and husband John; son Patrick Neely and wife Darlene; bonus daughter Melinda Gilley Cort and husband Blaine; sixteen grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren. Also, a brother, William Brown and many nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Wednesday, August 2, 2023, at 10:00 AM Eastern Time in the First Baptist Church of Chattahoochee. A time of visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 1, 2023, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Eastern Time at McAlpin Funeral Home.
